Starting the week of September 20, 2021, crews will begin constructing a new multi-use asphalt path along Bloor Street from Townline Road to Prestonvale Road. The work includes the removal of the existing concrete sidewalk, installation of a three-metre-wide asphalt multi-use path and accessibility improvements at the intersection. During the construction, sections of the existing sidewalk will be closed and detours will be in place. Local traffic may also experience periodic delays.

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department and Lakeridge Health have extended the timeline for two area COVID-19 mass immunization clinics to remain open until the end of 2021. The clinics located in Ajax and Oshawa were slated to close by mid to late September, but both clinics will now remain open joining the list of walk-in, pop-up and mobile clinics being offered in numerous communities throughout Durham Region.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is requesting input into the creation of the 2022-2025 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan. The plan will outline how the Region of Durham will prevent and remove barriers that people with disabilities may face in our programs, services and facilities.
When: The survey will be open from Monday, September 13 to Sunday, October 3.

Indoor group fitness classes are back
Welcome back to our indoor group fitness classes. The fall session begins the week of September 25, and a mini session is available from September 7 to 24. You must register one week at a time except for specialty classes as marked on the schedule. Group fitness classes have capacity limits to meet physical distancing requirements, and pre-registration is required for each class.
